Taking the Mic: ‘Learning Through Technology’ Podcast Guest Appearance

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to be a guest on Learning Through Technology: A K-12 EdTech Podcast. I had so much fun with co-hosts Alex Inman and Bob Cireddu and am always honored when people ask me to share my experiences.
But if I’m being 100% honest, I get even more excited about the potential to reach more leaders in tech to spread why it’s critical to create diverse teams and the power that women bring to leadership roles.
We spent some time talking about technology in schools—especially helping students, parents, and faculty utilize technology during the pandemic—but Alex and Bob were also genuinely interested in learning more about the experiences of women in tech.

I also share a key piece of my T.H.R.I.V.E. Operating System™—the need to understand and harness your strengths. Too many times, we wait for a manager to tell us what we’re good at and there’s a danger in adopting that mindset. Don’t wait for others to notice the amazing things you’re doing!
Another question I get asked a lot is where to find diverse talent—Alex and Bob did, too. As more CEOs and HR leaders understand the value of building diverse teams, they’ll often tell me that they posted the job, but applicants still lacked diversity. So I shared another tip about casting a wider net for open positions with your organizations.
